Pumpkin Bash 2011
On November 6, 1993, Lambda Chi Alpha began a philanthropy project that has collected more than 27 million pounds of food for the needy across North America. Called the North American Food Drive, this annual event has become the largest single-day philanthropic project sponsored by a collegiate organization. Lambda Chi Alpha became the first fraternity to receive the Summit Award from The American Society of Association Executives because of this event. Chapters hold different variations of this event such as Watermelon Bash, but at Kent State University we hold an annual Pumpkin Bash. This year the brothers were able to come together and collect 10,000 pounds of food for Kent Social Services! Aside from collecting cans and donations, the day consists of a number of activities that different student organizations compete in.
